Home dog boarding · HootonA home from home
Where dogs become part of the family
Fully insured home boarding for dogs. Your dog is one of the family here, in among young children and a dog of our own, with a garden and off-lead-friendly walks at the end of the road. For dogs who love company.
Every stay starts with a conversation and a meeting — there is no booking button, and that is deliberate.

What a stay looks like
Nothing about it is institutional. Your dog comes into a house that already runs around dogs, and carries on doing what they normally do.
- Part of the household
- Your dog lives the way they do at home — underfoot in the kitchen, on the sofa if that is their habit, with their own bed in a room that closes at night.
- Two proper walks a day
- On lead as standard, off lead only where it is safe and only if you are happy for it. The Wirral Way and an open reservation are both at the end of the road.
- You hear from us
- Photos and a line about the day, sent to you on WhatsApp, as often as you want them and never if you would rather not.
- Three dogs, no more
- We take three at a time and never a fourth. Small numbers are the whole point.

How it works
Four steps, and the second one is the important one. Sarah meets every dog before agreeing to board them — for your dog's sake as much as for the two others who will be sharing the house that week.
01
You message Sarah
Tell her about your dog and the dates you are thinking of. A conversation, not a form.
02
You both meet
You bring your dog to the house and see how they settle. This is where Sarah decides whether it is a good fit, and where you decide the same about her.
03
Details and vaccinations
If it is a yes, Sarah sends you a private link to fill in your dog’s details, vet, feeding and vaccination records. No account to create.
04
Dates held
A 20% deposit secures them. The balance is settled before your dog arrives — never on the doorstep.
Who we can take
- Over six months old and house-trained
- Up to date on the annual booster and kennel cough
- Wormed and treated for fleas within the last three months
- Neutered if over twelve months, or discussed with Sarah beforehand
- No history of aggression towards people or other dogs
- Sociable enough to share a house with up to two others
Been before?
Sarah already knows your dog, so there is nothing to fill in twice. Message her with your dates and she will send the link straight over. Regulars get first refusal on school holidays and Christmas.

Peak supplements apply to overnight stays during school and bank holidays, and over Christmas and New Year. Your total is confirmed in writing before you pay anything — no surprises. A 20% deposit secures the dates, and the balance is settled before your dog arrives, never on the doorstep. Regular weekly day boarding can be paid by standing order.
Questions
Why can I not book online?
Because Sarah meets every dog before saying yes. Three dogs share her house at a time, and the only way that works is if she knows each one. A booking button would let anyone skip that, so there is not one.
We have stayed before — do we still have to ask?
Only in the sense that you message Sarah rather than filling in a form. She knows your dog, so it is usually a two-line conversation and the link comes straight over. Regulars get first refusal on holiday dates.
What about medication?
Fine, and common. Tell Sarah what it is, when it is given and how, and bring it in its original packaging. Nothing is guessed at.
Can you take two dogs from the same family?
Yes, and they stay together. Two from one household counts as two of the three places.
What happens if my dog is unwell?
Sarah calls you first. If it cannot wait she takes them to your vet where possible, or the nearest practice if not, up to an agreed limit without needing to reach you. It is written into the terms so nobody is improvising.
Do you board dogs from outside the area?
Distance is not really the issue — the meeting is. If you can get to Hooton for an introduction and for drop-off, the rest works.
Around the house
Not a photoshoot — just what the days actually look like.

Start a conversation
Tell Sarah about your dog — the breed, the age, the habits, the thing they do that you would want a boarder to know. She answers WhatsApp between walks.
